Savvy Style is Forever

“I am dedicated to serving my clients by always showing them how to be classy and/or savvy shoppers as well as look and feel fabulous at the same time.”

.: Which schools did you attend, and how did they prepare you for your career?

I attended Benjamin E. Mays High School Math and Science Academy in Atlanta and the University of Georgia in Athens. My high school prepared me for my career by instilling in me the importance of excellence in all that I do. As a public relations major at the University of Georgia, I learned a lot about the importance of developing effective communication skills, relationship building, being able to work with people of various backgrounds, events planning and the importance of being creative and innovative. The knowledge I learned from both of these institutions prepared me to successfully navigate the fashion world.

.: How did you come up with your company name?

My company name reflects my mission. I am dedicated to serving my clients by always showing them how to be classy and/or savvy shoppers as well as look and feel fabulous at the same time.

.: What motivates you?

My drive to be of service to others by helping them feel and look their best always motivates me. There is nothing like a client telling you that they received numerous compliments on an outfit that I put together for them or how stress-free dressing has become after a closet evaluation. I am also motivated by successful fashion events that are organized, exciting, fun and ascetically pleasing to the eye.

.: How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?

Social media, advertising, my website, special promotions, pop-ups and event planning. However, I mainly market my business through customer referrals.

.: Anything new on the horizon for you in the near future?

There will be a lot of growth and expansion in the near future for Savvy & Fab. Be on the look out!

.: How did the idea for your business come about?

The idea for my business initially came about due to the lack of classy, unique and affordable clothing available to curvy professional women who didn't like or have the time to shop. As a buyer for petite and plus sizes, there was always a lack of fashionable style for the curvy women. Also, my 20+ years in fashion includes being selected to join the personal shopping department at Neiman Marcus and being chosen as a department manager, regional merchandise manager, buyer and store manager at Nordstrom. These roles, experiences and professional development in a professional setting, afforded me the

opportunity to flourish and showcase my innate fashion sense, and passion for fashion and ultimately prepared me with the expertise to establish my own professional fashion company. I always enjoyed doing personal shopping for executives, professional clients, etc.Helping them look fabulous and elevating their style always brought a smile to their faces and always excited and motivated me. I also loved planning special events that included informal modeling, trunk shows and private shopping events. Therefore, it was an easy decision for me to establish my own fashion company Savvy & Fab. I was well prepared and motivated to be of service to professional women and men.
